Welcome to Life Is What You Bake It!
My name is Jennifer and my passion is found in the kitchen! I have been cooking since around the age of 12 and baking before that.
I decided to write about my time creating delicious goodies and dishes just before I delivered my second daughter (literally like two days prior). I’ve always been intrigued by all the blogs and posts I run into when looking up something new to try. So finally I said I’ve thought about doing this for a couple years now, this is my chance to try it out and see where it takes me (if anywhere).
I love creating things and then devouring them… and sometimes sharing them too. It’s my way to relax, my creative outlet. I don’t always enjoy the clean up that follows but there’s not much you can do about that. I also love including my oldest daughter (when the other is able to I will) in making things. Since she was able to stand on a chair and hold a spoon she’s been my helper, taste tester and creator of extra messes (my floor was once all white with flour!)
I hope whoever decides to read about my adventures in the kitchen is able to take from it and learn something new; or get inspired to set foot in an unfamiliar environment. There are lots of people I know who don’t bake/cook but it’s so easy and can be fun and very rewarding; even if it doesn’t turn out perfect.
Never be afraid to try something new; You just might find your passion that way, whether you’re amazing at it or just okay. As long as you find joy in it, keep doing it! Thanks for reading and let the journey begin.
